How Skype Hypnosis Works
There is no practical difference between coming to a live hypnotist and doing skype hypnosis. In either case you and your hypnotherapist can see and hear each other well and that is all that is necessary. After all - you don't need to touch or smell him do you?
But there is a HUGE difference between getting real guidance from an experienced hypnotist and getting help from a less experienced one or a mass-produced recorded session. You are a unique person with unique needs and need to talk to a REAL PERSON!
If you have an iPhone you have all the equipment you need already. We'll just used FaceTime - which is already installed.
If you have another kind of smartphone you might need to download Skype - which is free in your app store.

And if you are using a computer you just need a camera and microphone (most all laptops and pads have standard), a good internet connection and we recommend a good set of headphones. Don't worry - we'll help you figure it out when you call.
When you do Skype Hypnosis with MyHypnotist.net first we do a little screening session where we get to know you and determine if you are a good candidate for hypnosis. Not everyone is and we do reject clients if we don't believe we can actually help you.
If you qualify then sessions include about 20 minutes of chatting with your hypnotist where you will learn about the subconscious patterns that are getting in your way and what we can do together to help you overcome them. Then your hypnotist will usually hypnotize you while you are on skype the first time or two to make sure you are actually achieving the right state of mind. Then you will receive a recording prescribed by your hypnotist specifically for your needs for you to use every day to reinforce the changes you began in your session.

How Hypnosis Works
So, what exactly is Hypnosis and How does it work?
In order to understand hypnosis it’s worthwhile to dispel a few myth’s.
It’s not sleep.
You’ll most likely be awake and alert the entire time – though it’s common for your attention to drift during a session. Those who fall asleep are those who are just plain tired or have a habit of falling asleep when watching a movie.
Second, it’s not mind control – no hypnotist can ever MAKE you do anything.
Instead, Hypnosis is a powerful tool that can assist you in re-enforcing and strengthening decisions you’ve already made for yourself and that you want to re-enforce. For instance - we can't MAKE you lose weight but we can TEACH you to THINK like a thin person... therefore feel... and therefor MAKE THIN CHOICES!
When you use it properly, you can gain significant leverage over unhealthy, unproductive, or unwanted habits. Especially the ones you often do without thinking – only to catch yourself after the fact.
This can result in quitting smoking far easier than ever before in as little as 1 session, losing unwanted pounds naturally and easily, without drugs or diets, and with much less of a constant struggle.
You can even use hypnosis to reduce stress and fears to maintain a healthier and happier life in general.
What does Hypnosis FEEL Like?
Think of a time when you tried to get the attention of a person in the middle of a good movie or checking email on the computer.
Hypnosis feels very similar to the state of being ‘zoned out’ in front of the TV or Computer. It happens easily through natural relaxation and focus of attention. You are aware and alert and if you need to get up or interrupt yourself you can – but you are focused intently on what you are doing.
The more you allow yourself to relax and focus your attention on the suggestions given (just like when you are watching a movie following the story), the more receptive you will be to that suggestion – and the more likely you are to agree with and act on that suggestion. Of course, any suggestion you don’t agree with will simply be rejected. You can always reject any suggestion give to you that you don’t wish to re-enforce.
Like anything else, the more you practice going into hypnosis the easier it becomes and before long you’ll get very good at going into hypnosis whenever you want – whether it’s in a session with your hypnotist or at home using an autogenic self-hypnosis program.
